The intent of Title I is for all children to become proficient in the State’s academic achievement standards and to provide supplement supports for those students that are struggling to meet the State’s standards. Afterschool programming can be an important component of helping students academically and closing the achievement gaps in school. In a Schoolwide Title I school, an afterschool program may be offered for all enrolled students. Please fill out application below.
Monday – Thursday 2:45 pm – 5:30 pm
Fridays 12:30 pm – 5:30 pm
The primary focus of this program is for students who need additional assistance in any subject area, particularly in reading and/or mathematics. The program is open to all students at Southgate Academy. After-school teachers and paraprofessionals assist students with homework, work on academic projects to close learning gaps, provide interventions and introduce new and upcoming academic topics to intrigue students and create additional background knowledge.

Students must be picked up by 5:30 pm. Failure to pick up on time may disqualify your child or children from the program.
